Food Items (Freeze-Dried Meals, Trail Snacks, etc.)
- We do not accept returns or exchanges on food items unless they are damaged, defective, or incorrect upon arrival. This policy is necessary to ensure food safety and hygiene (many outdoor food vendors follow similar practices).
- If your order arrives with any food package that is damaged, leaking, or missing, please contact us immediately (within 7 days of delivery) with your order number, photos of the damage, and a description.
- Once we confirm the issue, we will, at our discretion, issue a replacement or refund for the affected item(s).
Partial Orders / Backorders
If part of your order is temporarily out of stock and is shipped separately later, we won’t charge you extra shipping for the second shipment of the backordered portion.
Refund Timing & Process
- Once we receive a valid return or confirm the defect, we will notify you by email regarding approval.
- Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment and typically processed within 5–10 business days (depending on your bank or payment provider).
- Shipping fees (initial or return) are generally non-refundable, unless the return is due to our error.
How to Initiate a Return / Claim
- Email us at support@trailfoods.ca with your order number, item(s), reason for return, and photos (if relevant).
- Wait for our return authorization and instructions.
- Ship the item (if applicable) in its original packaging, carefully protected.
- Once received and inspected, we will carry out the refund, exchange, or replacement as applicable.
