Brohm Peak Trail Report June 13th 2026

Recommended Gear: Microspikes, Trekking Poles

The FSR to the upper parking area near the gate is completely snow-free and easily accessible. A HC 4x4 is recommended due to sharp rocks and several deep water bars, but a capable SUV can make it to the trailhead if driven carefully and slowly. A Subaru Crosstrek was parked at the trailhead when we arrived.

From the gate to the chalet is almost completely snow-free, except for a couple patches of snow just roughly 300m away from the gate.

The section from the chalet to the hut is covered with snow and slush. Some uphill sections have melted out and are now muddy and slippery. Due to the recent warm weather, trail conditions are wet, muddy, and slick, but the route remains manageable.

We hiked from the chalet to the hut without microspikes and experienced no postholing.

From the hut to Brohm Peak, conditions remain similar, with slushy and wet snow covering much of the route.

Microspikes are not required at this time, but they can be helpful for added traction and confidence on the slippery snow sections. Trekking poles are also recommended for stability on the wet and muddy terrain.
